In our inaugural 2019 season Black Rock FC won the Northeast Division with a   

9-3-2 record and were one of eight teams to advance to the national championship.  They automatically qualified for the 2019 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup - a tournament open to all professional and amateur teams affiliated with U.S. Soccer.  Many of our players received national recognition throughout the season and ta total of five players signed professional contracts in the months to follow.


(formerly PDL) is the proven developmental leader in pre-professional soccer in the U.S. and Canada. League Two franchises provide the elite amateur player the opportunity to train and compete at the highest level while maintaining their collegiate eligibility. The league has proven to be an important stepping-stone for top professionals now playing throughout the world, with 70% of all MLS draftees having League Two experience.  Unofficially, it is considered to be the fourth tier of competition, behind Major League Soccer, the North American Soccer League, and the United Soccer League. The League Two season consists of 14 regular season matches for each team, seven home and seven away. 72 teams compete in four conferences, split into ten regional divisions. In addition to league play, League Two teams compete in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup as well as various exhibitions.


in North American soccer's evolving tiered structure, League Two  serves as the platform for the development of future professionals both domestically and internationally. The league provides the elite collegiate-aged player the opportunity to train and compete in a professional environment, simulating that of the professional ranks.


the USL League Two is the foundation of player development to the professional ranks including the USL and Major League Soccer. Each league utilizes League Two for player development differently on a club-by-club basis. For instance, a Major League Soccer club will operate or affiliate with a League Two organization in order to provide their players the opportunity to obtain the precious training time needed in order to qualify for homegrown status. Similarly, higher tier USL clubs will utilize League Two for player identification.


of operating a team within the USL League Two are numerous. From player development to supporting the local community, League Two is a versatile property. A critical component of this venture is to provide a platform for Black Rock FC players who aspire to play at the professional level to further their development and be identified by pro scouts and agents.
