BLACK ROCK FC PARTNERS WITH FOUNTAIN VALLEY SCHOOL TO OFFER RESIDENTIAL ACADEMY IN 2022

Colorado Spring (CO), Nov 5th, 2021 - Fountain Valley School (Colorado Springs, CO) and Black Rock FC (Great Barrington, MA) have entered into a long-term partnership agreement to offer the Black Rock FC Residential Academy | Fountain Valley School. The 10-month boys soccer program will serve high-achieving student-athletes with the goal of continuing on to compete at the collegiate level. The team will compete in high school/prep school matches and events in the fall then transition to club events and friendlies representing Black Rock FC in the winter and spring. The BRFC Residential Academy | Fountain Valley School will begin in the 2022-2023 academy year.

Founded in 2013, Black Rock FC has established itself as a preeminent club in America having produced many top college players and young professionals. The club has gained national acclaim for its exciting brand of attacking football and its focus on player development. The current club structure provides development opportunities from grassroots to USL League Two, the highest level of amateur soccer in the USA. Using football as a vehicle, Black Rock FC seeks to help young men and women further their life opportunities by emphasizing academics, community, leadership, service, and global-minded thinking.

Fountain Valley School will be the Black Rock FC’s exclusive partner in the Mountain Region and marks the club’s fourth residential academy in five years, the first being Northwood School (Lake Placid, NY) in 2018, followed by High Mowing School (Wilton, NH) in 2019, and Western Reserve Academy (Hudson, OH) in 2021.

“We are very excited about our partnership with Fountain Valley School,” says Black Rock FC Founder and CEO Jon Moodey. “Our residential academy model is a fit for schools who take a progressive view on education. When you take into account Fountain Valley’s history, its diverse academic and co-curricular offerings...we couldn’t think of a better partner to work with,” Moodey added. “Having a presence in the Mountain Region will bring added exposure and new collaborative opportunities for all of our residential academies, so we are excited to see how that takes shape in the years to come.”

Fountain Valley School is a coed independent college preparatory school that offers day and boarding programs for students in grades 9-12. FVS was established in 1930 and is located on an 1,100 acre campus in Colorado Springs, Colo., which is 70 miles (115 km) south of Denver. Colorado's mountain ski resorts are two hours to the west, and the School has a 40-acre Mountain Campus near Buena Vista, CO, that provides abundant opportunities for year-round recreation and experiential education programs.

“I am very excited to be partnering with Black Rock FC and be the Program Director for the residential soccer program here at Fountain Valley School,” says Head Soccer Coach and Assistant Director of Athletics, Kevin Ray. “Black Rock FC has a proven track record at some of the most elite college showcase events in the country, helping many student-athletes reach their goal of playing college soccer. This year-round program will help FVS offer a college prep soccer environment to go with its college prep education.”
